Inner Trial, a debut feature film by Olli Ylinen represents new Finnish independent cinema showing a glimpse of subcultures
in contemporary Helsinki. Noa (Antti Launonen), 23 year old slacker is taken on a mental journey as he meets Ronja (Marja Salo) and Ilmari (Jyrki Nousiainen), a middleaged science-fiction documentarist. Ilmari takes a role of a mentor in Noa’s life, while they smoke marijuana, drop acid and have philosophical discussions about life and the universe. Soon the borders between sanity and madness
begin to dissolve and Noa fi nds himself struggling between love, drugs, society and space culture.
